Tamil Superstar and Makkal Needhi Maiyam (MNM) founder Kamal Haasan had initiated a controversy by saying “free India’s first terrorist was a Hindu,”. He was referring to Nathuram Godse who shot down Mahatma Gandhi in 1948.
In response to Kamal’s remark, actor Vivek Oberoi has slammed Kamal Haasan for saying that independent India’s first terrorist was a ‘Hindu’. Oberoi has asked the Tollywood legend if his remark was so because Kamal was speaking in a Muslim dominated area’.
Now Vivek, in yet another statement, has asked Kamal, why he is trying to sell Hindu Phobia.
“If you say Nathuram Godse was a terrorist, it’s fine. I have no love for the man who killed Mahatma Gandhi. But why say he was a Hindu. Why is he trying to sell Hindu-phobia, a false narrative of Hindu terror”? asked Oberoi.
“When will he realize that terror has no religion. Would Kamal Haasan sir say call the man, who killed several innocent Muslims at a mosque [Christchurch attack, New Zealand], a Christian terrorist? Would that not hurt Christian feelings”? he added.
