A 39-year-old farmer attempted suicide by drinking poison in front of Maharashtra Energy Minister C Bawankule to protest not getting electricity connection despite constant efforts.
“My grandfather had applied for electricity connection in 1980 but we still don’t have it,” the man said. He claimed he had warned district administration that he would commit suicide, adding that they didn’t care.
