The researchers in University of Washington has claimed that around 3 lakh people may dies of coronavirus in US. The researchers claimed by December,at least 300,000 people may lost their lives to the deadly pandemic. The researchers also said that 70,000 lives can be saved if people were conscious about wearing masks.
The predication was released by Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation i Washington University.
“We’re seeing a roller coaster in the United States. It appears that people are wearing masks and socially distancing more frequently as infections increase, then after a while as infections drop, people let their guard down,” Dr Christopher Murray, director of the IHME said in announcing the university’s latest forecast.
Till now 159,000 people had died in US due to coronavirus. The total cases has reached at 4.8 million. The US continues to be the worst hit country by the pandemic.
The IHME said infections were falling in former epicenters of Arizona, California, Florida, and Texas, but rising in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Virginia.
