18-year-old’s Binge-watching until dawn, saves 75 inhabitants of a two-storey building

An 18-year-old boy named Kunal Mohite is being hailed a hero on the internet as he saved 75 residents before the two-storey residential building in Dombivli collapsed. All thanks to his binge-watching habits that resulted in him becoming the savior.  The boy lived in the building which was in the Kopar area of the suburb. The BMC had deemed the place to be dangerous and notices were sent to the residents to vacate the place. However, due to their weak financial status, they could not do so.

Mohite stated how he was awake the entire night watching a web-series until the fateful hour. “While watching a web-series till dawn, I saw a part of my kitchen inside the house starting to fall down and immediately alerted everyone,” he said. As soon as he had witnessed the collapse in his house, he had woken up his parents as well as alerted the rest to vacate the building as soon as possible. Normally, binge-watching till the wee hours of the day can be harmful in several aspects, but, in this case, it turned out to be a good thing. Mohite’s story went viral on the internet. Netizens hailed him and lauded him for his bravery. The building collapse had taken place around 4:30 am. Thankfully, all 75 residents were safe and sound and were without any injuries. The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation had offered them to place them in a relief camp. However, the building owner has promised to accommodate them in a safer place.
