English actress Emilia Clarke makes her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Secret Invasion

English actress Emilia Clarke recently entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe with her role in Secret Invasion. In the series, she portrays G’iah, the estranged daughter of Talos, played by Ben Mendelsohn. During an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Clarke shared an intriguing off-screen anecdote that took place on the set of the show. She recounted a close call she had with Samuel L. Jackson while filming. Jackson reprises his role as Nick Fury and leads the cast of Secret Invasion. Clarke explained that she was assigned to drive a Lada, an old Russian car, on set. However, the car presented challenges for her due to its unconventional features, including multiple shift knobs and pedals. Feeling the pressure to begin shooting, Clarke attempted to gather her confidence and assured herself that she could handle it for one take.

She recalled the incident, stating, “[I] get in there. We get up to it. The camera is right there. Sam is right there. And I pressed the wrong thing, I pressed the accelerator rather than the brake.”

Fortunately, she quickly located the brake pedal, avoiding a collision with Jackson. Clarke commended Jackson for his graciousness and understanding in that situation. Although she experienced a mix of emotions, including shedding a few tears, she eventually handed over the driving duties to someone else.

Regarding the Secret Invasion series, it revolves around a world filled with paranoia and distrust. A rebellious faction of Skrulls, an alien race capable of assuming any person’s form, blurs the lines between friend and foe. The story centers around Fury, who is compelled to question his own perceptions. Olivia Colman portrays Sonya Falsworth, a high-ranking MI6 agent with a complicated history, who forms an uneasy alliance with Fury. The primary antagonist, Gravik, played by Kingsley Ben-Adir, leads the renegade Skrulls.
