250 Ayush wellness centres 500 herbal gardens in HP

On Monday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that the state government will establish 250 Ayush wellness institutes and 500 herbal gardens in Himachal to support the Ayurvedic system. Sukhu stated in a statement published here that these herbal gardens will not only generate quality herbal medications but will also serve as an added attraction for tourists visiting the state.

During the current fiscal year, the state government will establish 250 Ayush centres and 500 herbal gardens in various regions of the state in conjunction with the Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Education, and Forest departments, he said.

According to the chief minister, it will allow people to get the benefits of Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical practise. The integration of Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) therapies in illness prevention and treatment of subclinical disorders and chronic ailments can bring a new dimension to the healthcare system, according to the report. According to Sukhu, the potential of alternative medicines in rejuvenation, anti-aging, and cosmetics has been underutilised. He stated that Ayush can improve mental health in a far more holistic way than the present health system.
