Cyclone Tej: Gulf country announces school closure

Muscat: Ministry of Education in Oman has announced a holidays for all public and private schools  in some regions. Classes will remain suspended in all schools in the Wilayats of Dhalkut, Rakhyut and some areas in Al-Mazyouna on Wednesday and Thursday, October 25-26. The decision was taken due to extreme weather conditions.

The  Directorate General of Education in Dhofar Governorate announced the continued suspension of studies in all schools in the Wilayats of Dhalkut and Rakhyut and the following schools in the Wilayat of Al-Mazyouna: (Al-Ahqaf), (Ibn Al-Dhahabi), (Harwib) and (Andat) on  Wednesday and Thursday.

Schools will resume in the rest of the states and schools not included in the above statement from today, Wednesday.

Cyclone Tej  is likely to cross between Al Ghaidah (Yemen) and Salalah (Oman) in the early hours of October 25.
