Stock Market: Sensex, Nifty end marginally higher

Mumbai: Indian equity benchmark indices ended marginally higher  in the volatile session on November 8. BSE Sensex settled at 64,975.61, up 33.21 points or 0.05%. NSE Nifty ended at 19,443.50, up 36.80 points or 0.19%.

A total of 3,715 stocks were actively traded today, in this, 1769 shares advanced, 1454 shares declined, and 97 shares unchanged.  281 stocks hit a 52-week high, while 163 stocks hit a 52-week low.

Top gainers were  BPCL, Adani Ports, Cipla, Asian Paints and Titan Company. Top losers  were ICICI Bank, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, Infosys and Tata Consumer Products.

Among sectors, except, IT and bank (down marginally), all other indices ended higher with realty, oil & gas, healthcare and capital goods up 1% each, while auto, FMCG and metal up 0.5% each. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rose 0.5% each.
