International air carrier to launch direct flights to this Indian city

Dhaka: The national air carrier of Bangladesh, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has decided to launch new direct flights to India. The airline will operate flights to Chennai. The service will start from December 16.

The airline will operate 3 flights a week connecting Dhaka and Chennai on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. This flight will be beneficial for Bangladeshi medical service seekers.

‘It’s a much demanded route for Bangladeshi nationals to India and we have decided to operate three weekly flights on Dhaka-Chennai-Dhaka route,’ Biman Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shafiul Azim said.

Earlier Biman Bangladesh Airlines commenced direct flight to Narita in Japan and resumed flight operation to Guangzhou in China.

Currently, one of Bangladesh’s private carriers US Bangla Airlines is operating flights on the Dhaka-Chennai-Dhaka route
