Mansoor Ali Khan summoned by police for non-compliance with station appearance.

The All Women Police Station (AWPS) of Thousand Lights, Chennai, has initiated legal proceedings against actor Mansoor Ali Khan by issuing summons in connection to his failure to appear at the police station. This action is a pivotal development within the ongoing investigation into allegations of the actor making derogatory remarks about actor Trisha Krishnan, as reported by the Chennai city police.

The decision to serve summons stems from an order issued by DGP Shankar Jiwal, underscoring the gravity with which law enforcement is handling this case. The National Commission for Women had previously taken Suo Motu cognizance of the matter, directing the Tamil Nadu police to investigate further.

Responding to the summons, Mansoor Ali Khan provided a statement, seeking additional time for compliance due to a throat infection preventing him from appearing promptly.

The charges brought against the actor include Sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to outrage modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code, highlighting the severity of the allegations. These legal proceedings underscore a dedicated effort to address issues related to derogatory remarks and harassment within the entertainment industry.
