India witnessed a daily increase of 148 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 4.50 crore, as per the latest data from the Union Health Ministry. The active cases have risen to 808, while the death toll stands at 5,33,306. The data, updated at 8 am, reveals that 4,44,68,775 individuals have recovered from the virus, resulting in a national recovery rate of 98.81%. The case fatality rate is reported at 1.19%.
Additionally, the ministry’s website reports that a total of 220.67 crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered across the country. The latest figures depict a continued effort in managing and monitoring the COVID-19 situation in India, with vaccination playing a crucial role in mitigating the impact of the virus on the population.
