New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked as the world’s most popular leader. A survey conducted by US-based consultancy firm ‘Morning Consult’ has named Narendra Modi as most popular global leader with an approval rating of 76%. Narendra Modi’s approval rating is over 10% points higher than the next top leader on the list.
PM Modi was followed by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (66%), Switzerland President Alain Berset (58%) and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (49%). United States President Joe Biden ranked seventh on the list with an approval rating of 40%, his highest approval rating since March. Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala secured the lowest approval rating at 16%. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s approval rating was at 25%.

Narendra Modi was also ranked the ‘most popular’ leader with an approval rating of 76% in the April survey. In February too, PM Modi was pegged as the world’s most popular global leader with an approval rating of 78%.
According to the data, PM Modi also has the lowest disapproval rating on the list at just 18%. Canada’s Justin Trudeau has the highest disapproval rating of 58%.
Morning Consult’s latest approval ratings are based on data collected from November 29 to December 5, 2023. As per the report, approval ratings are based on a seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country, with varying sample sizes.
