Donald Trump claims that his small role in ‘Home Alone 2’ piqued everyone’s interest in the movie

Donald Trump has expressed confidence in the impact of his cameo appearance in the cult classic film “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.” Trump appeared in a small role in the movie and believes that his presence was a game-changer, sparking interest in the film. The director of the film, Chris Columbus, had previously commented that Trump “bullied his way” into the movie.

In a 2020 interview, Columbus shared that the film’s team wanted to shoot in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, and Trump, who owned the hotel at the time, insisted on being included in the movie. Trump allegedly said, “‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie,'” and the filmmakers agreed to include him. Columbus mentioned that during the first screening, the audience cheered when Trump appeared on screen, leading him to decide to keep the cameo in the movie. However, he also noted that Trump “bullied his way into the movie.”

Trump has now refuted these allegations, stating that nothing could be further from the truth. He argued that his cameo helped make the movie a success and questioned why, if the filmmakers felt bullied or didn’t want him, they kept him in the film for over 30 years. Trump asserted that he was great for the movie and dismissed the accusations as another attempt by a “Hollywood guy from the past looking for a quick fix of Trump publicity for himself.” The controversy surrounding Trump’s cameo in “Home Alone 2” has reignited discussions about his involvement and the impact on the film’s reception.
