Bomb threats to Delhi-NCR schools traced to Russia

Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, confirmed today that the police have traced the source of the hoax bomb emails sent to nearly 100 schools across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). According to the Delhi Police, a total of 97 bomb threat calls/emails were received by the fire control room by 12:00 pm. Saxena assured the public that the Delhi Police swiftly responded, cordoning off affected areas and conducting thorough search operations with the assistance of dog squads and bomb disposal units.

Emphasizing the authorities’ readiness, Saxena stated that the culprits behind the emails would face severe consequences. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) echoed this sentiment, urging the public not to panic, as the threats appeared to be a hoax. The MHA assured that Delhi Police and security agencies were following necessary protocols, conducting searches in schools that received the threats.

As a precautionary measure, all students were evacuated from the affected schools and sent home. Saxena requested a detailed report from the Police Commissioner regarding the bomb threats in Delhi-NCR schools. Among the schools targeted by the bomb threat emails were Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, DPS School in Dwarka, DAV School, Amity School in Pushp Vihar and Saket, and Sanskriti School in New Delhi.
