Force Gurkha with BS-IV engine launched in India

Force Motors on Monday launched the 2017 Force Gurkha with updated BS-IV engine in India for a price of Rs 8.38 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the 5-door Xpedition variant and Rs 9.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the 3-door Xplorer variant. Along with the updated BS-IV engine, the 2017 Force Gurkha also gets minor cosmetic changes to drive the sales of the Extreme Off-road Vehicle in India.

Engine:

Under the hood of the 2017 Force Gurkha comes a OM 616 sourced 2.6 litre inter-cooled, direct injection, turbocharged diesel engine which is also BS-IV compliant now. This engine now produces 85 bhp of peak power and 230 Nm of peak torque, mated to a G-28 five-speed manual transmission.

Design:

Unlike others, where the air intake is closer to the ground and prone to dust entry, the air intake of the Gurkha is through a snorkel mounted at roof height of the vehicle that ensures ample supply of clean air to the engine ensuring better combustion and lower strain on the air cleaning system. The snorkel also gives Gurkha a high water wading ability of up-to 550mm, unmatched by any other vehicle in this category.

The only vehicle in its class with factory fitted hard top and air conditioning ensuring total safety and comfort even while traversing rough terrains in extreme weather conditions

Dimensions:

The 2017 Force Gurkha comes with wheelbase of 2750mm and measures 4342mm in length, 1790mm in width and 2055mm in height. The Force Gurkha has a ground clearance of 190mm.

Competition:

The Force Gurkha competes against Mahindra Thar in India.
