India will see its first uterine transplant on May 18. The transplant will take place in Galaxy Laparoscopy Institute, Pune.
The hospital will be the first to perform this procedure in the country.
The patients will be monitored closely for six months before the operation. The Pune hospital has been licensed by the Directorate of Health Services.
The first successful transplant of the same kind took place in Sweden.
