Padmavati fire- supported by colleague and opposed by neta

‘Padmavati’ once again hits the newsstands with more supports and opposing. Let’s take a look at the new supporters and opposes.

Actress Richa Chadha has asked those who are protesting against the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ to first watch the film. She says that no religion is that weak that a movie can break it.

Richa, who was present at the song launch of ‘Fukrey Returns’, shared her thoughts on Padmavati controversy stating her faith will not be shaken because of a film.

“With all due respect and love, I am also a Hindu, and I don’t think religion is so weak that a movie can break it. And I think it is a specialty of India that we are a democracy so watch the film before objecting,” said the actress, who worked with Bhansali in film ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’.

“There is a body in India which certifies the films so they have done their work. And I have so much belief in my faith, tradition, and culture, that it will not shake because of some 2-3 hours long film,” she added.

‘Padmavati’ is being opposed by the Karni Sena on religious and historical grounds.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Uma Bharti is for Deepika Padukone and against ‘Padmavati’.

On Thursday, Bharti hits out at Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director of Bollywood film ‘Padmavati’, for not taking care of sentiments of the Rajput community and said disrespect of actress Deepika Padukone is ‘immoral’.

“If we are talking about the respect of Padmavati, then it is our moral obligation that we respect every woman. Disrespect of the actress or actor of ‘Padmavati’ is uncalled for and immoral,” she said in a series of tweets.

Placing her faith in the Film Censor Board, she expects the film will be cleared taking the sentiments of people into consideration.

The Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister’s remarks came a day after the Shri Rajput Karni Sena called for a ‘Bharat Bandh’ (shutdown) on December 1 if the movie was released on that date.
