The vote counting is underway and in most of the places Congress has settled to the last position and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in all the three civic bodies of the state. The BJp has won the Mayoral post in Ayodhya Nagar Nigam. BJP’s Rishikesh Upadhyay has become the first Mayor of Ayodhya. The BJP is also ahead in 13 other mayoral posts out of 16. The BSP is leading in the rest. The complete results of the election will be available on the Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission website.
The winners this election will be informed of their victory through SMS. Each winner in the UP Local Elections will be receiving an SMS informing them of their result.
The UP Local Elections was being seen as the first litmus test for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after he came to power eight months ago. Adityanath campaigned through the state along with his ministers to leave no stone unturned to ensure a victory for BJP in his state.
