“PM Modi got the guts to get both surgical strikes and demonitisation,Manmohan Singh didn’t have such guts”,says Ravi Shankar Prasad

Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Law and Justice and IT, while speaking during a session titled “Achche Din Aa Gaye!” at the Agenda Aaj Tak 2017 event, said, “If people don’t listen to journalists repeating the same question of whether the good days will come under Narendra Modi, what do we do?”

“People are aware of their power to vote parties, politicians out of power. The win in Uttar Pradesh civic polls is proof that people in the state appreciate the work BJP has done, and it is also a sign of what is going to happen in the Gujarat Assembly election,” Prasad said.

Talking about the startup boom, Prasad, the union minister for Information and Technology, said: “The Asia head of a big IT firm told me recently that when he used to go for campus placements in IITs, students used to rush to grab the opportunity but now, they say they’d rather startup and become the employment provider themselves.”

On being asked if BJP and PM Narendra Modi, with the authority of being elected to power, would go against Indian judiciary or say that judiciary should function the way Modi and BJP dictate, Ravi Shankar Prasad lost his cool.

Shouting “You’re absolutely wrong, I will interrupt you,” Prasad said that the Modi Cabinet has, other than himself, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh, who had revolted during the Indira Gandhi government-imposed emergency (1975-77) and fought for the rights of the citizens, of the press and independence of the judiciary, and that this government and he himself, respect the judicial system.

Praising the prime minister, Prasad said, “PM Modi has the guts to get surgical strikes done as well as surgical strike on black money done. PM Manmohan Singh didn’t have such guts.”
