Twitter recently announced the reports that Surya’s tweet has been declared as the golden tweet.The tweet, in which Suriya unveils the second look of his film, Thaana Serndha Koottam, has garnered over 70,000 retweets so far as well as over 1 lakh likes.
This great moment is not only for Surya’s fans, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s film Mersal was top trending hashtags this year, with a staggering 1.7 million tweets in just three days.
Mersal created controversy for its scenes criticising GST, demonetization and Digital India. Even though the Tamil Nadu BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) was up in arms against Vijay’s film, Mersal became the highest grossing Tamil film of 2017, having earned over Rs 250 crore worldwide.
