Asus to launch Zenfone max plus with Face Unlock, 4130 mAh battery

CES 2018 is underway, and along with amazing technology products, the show has seen some of the top smartphone manufacturers launch their devices. On Sunday, Sony launched Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia L2. On Monday, Asus has launched its next offering, the Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1) at the CES 2018 in Las Vegas. At the launch, the manufacturer said that they have sold more than 5 million units in the ZenFone Max series. So far there have been four devices launched in the series, namely ZenFone Max, ZenFone 3 Max, ZenFone 4 Max, and the ZenFone 4 Max Pro. With Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1), the ZenFone Max line-up will see the new entrant at a much affordable price point!

Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1) was first seen in Russia in November last year. The device will come with Android 7.0 Nougat-based ZenUI 4.0 out of the box. Asus ZenFone Max Plus will come with face detection feature called Face Unlock, just like the OnePlus 5T. The phone will support dual Nano SIM and feature a 5.7-inch IPS display with full-High Definition Plus display. One of the best aspects of the device is that it will be in tune with the flagship devices and have 18:9 aspect ratio. Asus ZenFone Max Plus will have a MediaTek MT6750T processor. The smartphone will come with 2GB or 3GB RAM options.

On the camera front, Asus ZenFone Max Plus will have dual cameras on the rear of the device. A 16MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens and a secondary 8MP image sensor with a 120-degree wide-angle lens are bound to give you good camera performance. There are multiple features listed on the camera that will enhance your image shooting experience. As for the selfie-experts, an 8MP front-facing camera is seen on the device with f/2.0 aperture lens.

However, it is the storage department where the Asus ZenFone Max Plus lags behind. The phone comes with two storage options – 16GB and 32GB. However, that can be corrected with an expandable microSD card support of up to 256GB. Asus ZenFone Max Plus has a fingerprint scanner and boasts a behemoth 4130mAh battery.

As far as the price is concerned, the Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1) is announced at $229 in the US and will be available there from February onwards. The $229 price point is roughly translated to Rs 14,500. Another tough competitor entering the mid-range market in 2018 after Samsung’s On 7 Prime, meaning multiple interesting options for the customer!
