Amit Shah tears into Congress in his maiden Rajya Sabha speech

Amit Shah made his first speech in Rajya Sabha by reminding members of the massive victory of BJP in 2014. He said,”In 2014, the people of India made a historic decision, by voting a government to power with full majority.”

Amit Sha said that BJP took a strong stand against Corruption and that opposition couldn’t even point a single case of corruption against BJP. He also claimed that BJP has uplifted everyone in the society.

He also pointed out the electoral victory of BJP in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat etc. and said that shows the acceptance of BJP.

He also tore into the Congress in Triple Talaq issue and said that while BJP is trying to uplift the Muslim women of the society, Congress is trying to stall it. He also pointed out the Shah Bano case. He said,

“It is not the first time that the court has given a verdict. It had given a verdict in the past as well.. in the Shah Bano case… but it was stopped by a legislation brought in by the Congress Party.”

He also boasted about the increased power of Indian army under Bharatiya Janata Party Government. He also compared Indian government to that of the Unitedd States and Israel as far as protecting its armed forces and the people of the country is considered.

He also claimed that BJP is the only party that has done something to bring down the unemployment rate in the country while the present worse condition is because of the 60 years of Congress government. “The current day scenario is there after 60 years of your rule.”

He didn’t mince any words while attacking Congress, “For 70 years this country was run just by one family. At one point people started believing that this is how things will be. They had lost hope. Today, there is a new hope, an optimism across the country.”
