BJP gearing up for strong performance in Uttar Pradesh Bypolls

As Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for bypolls, all the parties BJP, Samajwadi party and Congress expressed confidence that they will win the bypolls. The election to the seats of Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha constituencies were necessitated due to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya getting elected to the state assembly.

Dates of Lok Sabha Bybolls election in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar had been declared. Elections will be held on March 11 on Phulpur and Gorakhpur seats in Uttar Pradesh and Araria, Bhabua and Jehanabad seats in Bihar. The results will be declared on March 14.

The election will test the mettle of Congress which has showed improved performance in Gujarat and also in Rajasthan bypolls.

Exuding confidence that the BJP will sweep the bypolls, state BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said: “BJP is always ready for elections. We are a cadre-based party. I am confident that the party will improve its winning margin.”

BJP which is holding 325 seats out of 403 seats in UP, It is a prestigious battle. Tripati also hurled jibe at both opposition parties Samajwadi and Congress.

“The two opposition parties had forged a pre-poll alliance to contest the Assembly polls. Now, the opposition is virtually scattered. When they could not damage the BJP unitedly, then how can they damage the BJP by contesting individually.”

Samajwadi Party commented that the people of UP will punish BJP for their misgovernance. While Congress is hopeful of a strong performance.
