Islamic Scholar Who Suggested Shifting of Babri Site suspended by All India Muslim Personal Law Board

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Saturday suspended Maulana Salman Nadwi.The action followed after Maulana Salman Nadwi had a meeting with the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for an out of the court settlement in the Babri Masjid case.

The board had constituted a four-member panel which includes president Maulana Syed Rabey Hasani Nadwi, general secretary Maulana Wali Rahmani, secretary Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani and Jamiat-e-Ulama chief and aamilah member Maulana Arshad Madani to probe Maulana Nadwi.

On this development, Maulana Salman Nadwi commented that he had already quit the organization and that the board removing or suspending him doesn’t mean anything to him at all.

He had earlier commented that he would meet Hindu faith leaders for a settlement in the Babri issue. And he is working for the Muslim community and the brotherhood of the country.

Meanwhile, the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi issue is still pending in the Supreme Court for final hearing. The Supreme Court has already ordered to view this case only as a land issue.
