Pay Commission is set up by Government of India and gives its recommendations regarding changes in the salary structure of its employees.
Since India’s Independence, seven pay commissions have been set up on a regular basis to review and make recommendations on the work and pay structure of all civil and military divisions of the Government of India. Headquartered in Delhi, the Commission is given 18 months from the date of its constitution to make its recommendations.
It is nothing short of good news for government employees. It has transpired that 7th Pay Commission gains have been promised to employees of this state too and this has been done at the highest levels. Union Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday released the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Vision Document’ for Tripura in Agartala ahead of the assembly elections. The polls are going to be held on February 18.

The document holds out a lot of promises and among them is that the party will be developing basic infrastructure for urban, rural areas as well as for people living below poverty level. The document promises to provide latest technological tools for the young generations of Tripura and also vows to deliver hike and perks in the pay packages for government employees. Ahead of the polls, implementation of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC) for the Tripura government employees is one of the key poll promises of BJP-IPFT alliance.
It is rumored that the party has promised to open several employment exchanges for the youth of the state with a vision to regularise the service of all contractual and temporary workers. The stress on the push for employment was felt in the speech of Arun Jaitley in Tripura where he accused the Left-led government of corruption, unemployment, and violence and maintained that BJP must be elected to bring change in the system. FM Jaitley further said that without BJP, Tripura will continue to lack employment opportunities and said that the party must be brought to power to ensure an effective government and equal distribution of development.
Amit Shah while holding the mega roadshow in the state on Sunday asked the gathering if they have been provided the basic salary authorized under the 7th Pay Commission. Amit Shah also said that Tripura would transform into a model state in five years if BJP is brought into power.
