Farmer puts up Sunny Leone’s Bikini poster to keep crop safe

An Andhra Pradesh farmer has come up with an innovative idea to ward off “evil eye” of fellow villagers on his farm by putting up a poster of Bollywood actor Sunny Leone. In the poster, Sunny strikes a sultry pose in a red bikini against the green backdrop of the farmer’s large field of vegetable crop in Nellore district.

A Chenchu Reddy of Banda Kindi Palle village, the poster will help him ward off the “evil eye” of other villagers and that, in turn, will keep his crops safe and provide him with a good yield.

“Year after year, I would suffer losses because of a poor yield. The crops looked healthy for some time, but then something would go wrong,” Pune Mirror quoted Reddy as saying. “It then struck me that my farm is located next to a road and every passer-by can see it.”

The poster, which features the actress dressed in a striking red bikini, also carries a line that reads: “Orey, nannu chusi edavakura (Hey, don’t cry or feel jealous of me)!”

Reddy reportedly put up the posters on January 13 and shelled out Rs 600 for the same. But it all seems to be paying off now. “It’s been a month and I can see the difference. People don’t look at my farm as they are busy staring at the pictures,” he added.

When asked if he was a fan of Leone, Reddy revealed that his friends were the one who told him about her. My friends told me I should get her pictures because she is very popular,” he said.

As happy he may be about his crops and the yield, many believe that the posters may be objectionable and may irk the police of agricultural authorities, but Reddy believes that authorities never make an effort to visit the farms. “The officials never bother to come to our fields to find out our problems. Why should they have any objection?” he told Hindustan Times.

While carvings and clay statues of demons and clothed scarecrows made from straws may be a common sight in these farms, a Sunny Leone poster in the middle of a 10-acre land is not something everyone would expect to see. Quite an idea, we must say! Now Twitter has come up with hilarious reactions to the farmer’s idea.
