In a major embarrassment to Delhi chief minister Aravind Kejriwal, his lawyer Anoop George Chaudhari has notified that he will no longer appear for the Delhi CM in the Defamation case. In a letter he wrote stating his decision, he said that he had inadequate briefing which resulted in an “embarrassing situation” on February 12.
Before this the senior counsel Ram Jethmalani too refused to appear for Aravind Kejriwal and said that the Delhi CM had “lied” when he said he had not instructed him to use the word “crook” while cross-examining Arun Jaitley.

Jethmalani also said that he is ready to leave off his 2 crore fees as he works for free for thousands of people.

Jethmalani while appearing for Kejriwal in the court had used the term ‘crook’ to address Arun Jaitley. Arun Jaitley later asked whether Jethmalani used the word with the support of Kejriwal to which the senior leader agreed but Delhi CM said he didn’t give any such directions.
Jaitley had filed a defamation case against Kejriwal and five other leaders of the AAP claiming that made baseless allegations against him, accusing him of corruption during his 13-year-term as head of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). In the case, Arun Jiatley demanded 10 crores as compensation for defaming him.
