Police Constable Arrested For allegedly cheating and fooling people

A police constable was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly posing as the chief of Special Protection Group (SPG) in CBI and cheating four individuals to obtain Rs 88 lakh from them. The constable is identified as Anant Prasad Pandey who belongs to the Mumbai police.

Anant Prasad, who was attached to the Yellow Gate police station, was arrested by the Kasarwadwali police who also revealed that the constable had not reported working since December last year.

According to the officials, Anant Prasad posed as the SPG chief in CBI and obtained Rs 88 lakhs from various victims as he promised various to get various things done for them such as liquor license, stalls at railway stations and jobs as railway ticket checker. Later, on finding out that Anant is either carrying out his promises nor returning his money, The victims decided to complain.

Anant was arrested from Nalasopara based on the complaint and was later produced before a local court which pronounced to remand him for seven days.
