BJP is confident of overcoming two decades of CPIM rule in Tripura

BJP is hoping for a stunning victory in the just concluded Tripura election so that they can show it as an answer to the critics who claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity is dwindling. This will also help the BJP to eclipse the controversy regarding the Punjab National Bank scam.

BJP is that even if they are not able to form a government in the state, they are hopeful to become a strong opposition in the state.

They believe that it would be a fantastic achievement as a few years back there was no BJP in the state and they had to construct it from the base.

“The report from the ground after the elections is very exciting. We are hopeful of victory. Even if we fail, we will come very close and emerge as a strong force in the north-eastern state and it would be a big achievement,” said a senior BJP leader who was part of the BJP’s election campaign in the state.

BJP claims that they are hopeful of a victory and that can be seen from the frustration of CPI(M) who have alleged EVM malfunctioning in several polling booths.

Another reason which gives BJP hopes to win the state election is the increased popularity of BJP among women and youth whom they claim to want to oust Left rule from the state, “With the Congress out of the contest, the BJP emerged as a big attraction.”
