Massive replacements in the Police: Mohhamad Yasin, new Vigilance Chief

The incidents surrounding the death of Kevin and the resultant controversies have forced the Kerala Government to do a repair in the upper echelons of the Police.DGP Muhammad Yasin will be the new Vigilance chief and he will take charge of the position left vacant by N.C.Asthana who is on his deputation to the central service. Sheikh Darwesh Sahib will be heading the Crime Branch and DIG Sethuraman is set to become the IIG in Police HQ.

There have been allegations against previous SP of Kottayam district Muhammad Rafeek of being a relative of Rahna, mother of the chief accused Shanu Chacko in Kevin Murder case. Former Sp had rubbished these allegations and said that he was ready to accept any punishment if this allegation is proved right. He also told that he came to know about the murder of Kevin only later and that the CM called him to take up the case. He clarified that he had no relatives in Kottayam or Kollam and the course of law would be followed against the ASI who made those fake allegations against him. He also hinted of moving civil and criminal cases against the advocate who raised that allegation on behalf of the ASI.
