At least three deaths were reported in Mumbai due to the pre-monsoon showers which ravaged the city late on Saturday. The deceased, including two minors, were killed after being electrocuted. Flight operations were also affected in the city, with domestic, international and cargo carriers being delayed up to 90 minutes.
Road and rail commutation was also hit as traffic snarls were caused due to waterlogging in some parts of the city. The local trains, known as the lifeline of Mumbai, were also slowed down or briefly halted on some routes due to the incessant rainfall combined with the thunder strikes.

The Jet Airways announced last evening that all its flights traveling to and from from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will be delayed by up to 45 minutes till at least 11:30 pm.
A Mumbai-bound SriLankan Airlines flight was diverted to Ahmedabad, whereas, a couple of GoAir and Qatar Airways flight were also diverted to Gujarat.
Apart from Mumbai, heavy rainfall was experienced in neighboring Thane, Palghar, and Pune. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) state unit, the showers were not those of monsoon.
