“Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall (is) very likely over north and central India during February 11-13. Minimum temperatures are likely to rise by 2-4 degree Celsius over northwest India during the next two days,” the IMD said.

Snowfall is also expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal. The reason for the massive change in climate is that heavy winds over Afghanistan are moving towards India.

“An active Western Disturbance lies over central parts of Afghanistan at present. It is most likely to move over northwest India during the next 48 hours. An induced cyclonic circulation is also very likely to develop over south Pakistan and neighborhood during next 24 hours,” the IMD added.
