Association of Malayalam Movie Artists’ (AMMA) General Secretary and Actor Edavela Babu’s new statements have opened up fresh problems for the organisation. Amma had earlier claimed that victim in the abduction case had not filed a complaint against Dileep, but Babu’s alleged statement given to the police contradicts this argument. He says the actress had made a complaint about her opportunities being denied in the cinema field.

Edavela Babu further said that he had discussed the complaint with Dileep too but Dileep responded to him asking why he is interfering in unwanted issues.
Amma had recently made the decision to reinstate the membership of Dileep in the organisation. The woman members of WCC (Women in Cinema Collective) had quit the organisation following this decision. Today, more actresses have come out in protest against the decision and the names include prominent actress like Revathy, PadmaPriya etc.
