CM Pinarayi Vijayan as a saviour to this nurse.Know how?

A Malayali nurse received a new life thanks to the timely interference by the Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan. Sophia Poulose, a native from Pulpalli in Wayanad district was helped out of an illegal detention in Dubai.

On the offer of a nursing job, she went to Dubai. But she was given a job of a home nurse there and when she protested the agent took her to Kuwait where she was detained in a house. It was on the help received by a nearby Malayali woman that she got a chance to inform her parents and relatives about the plight. They brought the issue to the attention of CM.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan sent a letter to the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj asking for her immediate intervention in the issue. The letter was handed over to the Kuwait government by the External Affairs Ministry along with that the state government reached out to the Malayali organizations and the Indian embassy in Kuwait.

After a search operation launched by the Kuwait labor department, Sophia was found out which enabled her return to Kerala. An e-mail informing her departure was also sent by the Kuwait labor department to the CM.
