After a house wife’s complaint of rape against 5 priests, details of another rape case have come to fore.The Managing Committee member of Chittar St.George Orthodox Church, Fr.
Mathew Vazhakunnam revealed that a sexual abuse case against a former priest in that church was compromised. The victim’s husband gave a complaint to the head of the Niranam Diocese Joshua Mar Nicodimos but due to the threat from the Methrapolitha, the complaint was withdrawn by him.

The complaint should have been put before discussion in the Diocese council and taken necessary actions, said Fr. Mathew Vazhakunnam. When the council members complained, the Metrapolitha chose to remain silent and showed disinterestedness in the issue.Fr.Mathew said to the media that the complainant had been called 6 times by the diocese secretary to make him withdraw the complaint.
