19-year-old carries aborted foetus in bag crying rape

The police officials were horrified to see a 19-year-old walk into the station with a fetus in her bag alleging that she has been raped.

In Uttar Pradesh, the woman walked up to the Amroha police station to file an FIR, alleging that she had been raped and was forced to abort her child. . Police have filed a report in the case and have sent the fetus for post-mortem. Reportedly, the fetus was five-months-old.  

Registering the rape under the relevant sections of the IPC, the police also filed a case of unnatural abortion in this regard. The police have sent the woman to the local hospital for a medical examination.

The woman alleged that she was raped for the past 6 months and the regular sexual assaults had made her pregnant.  In fact, all this happened even after she was given regular doses of contraceptives by the man in question.

Police have found that the victim and the accused were allegedly in a relationship. Beyond the wishes of the pregnant woman, the man reportedly forced the girl to abort the pregnancy. He did so in order to avoid marriage.

Investigating the case, police personnel said that the couple was in a relationship.  In order “to avoid the marriage” the man made the victim abort her pregnancy.

NOT THE FIRST CASE

Earlier in April this year, in a similar case, a 20-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district reached police station police superintendent’s office to file a rape complaint carrying her four-month-old fetus in a bag.

The woman alleged that she was raped by four people for months and was forced to abort the baby.

She filed a complaint against four people -Neeraj Pandey, Dheeraj Pandey, Prem Kumar, Rajkumar and a nurse Sapna, who forcefully conducted her abortion. The victim said that the rapists threatened her for dire consequence if she revealed about the incident to anyone.
