CPI(M) and Congress Party Join Hands to Defeat BJP

The no-confidence motion brought by Congress against BJP in Enmakaje Panchayath in Kasargode district of Kerala proved successful. The motion was passed with the support of LDF. It was UDF member Y. Sharada who brought the motion against the President Roopavani R Bhat of BJP.

Currently, BJP and UDF have 7 members each and LDF has 3. In the 7 seats held by UDF, Congress has 4 and Muslim League has 3. It was through a lucky draw that BJP held on to the administration last time.

UDF had earlier brought the no-confidence motion, but it failed to gather any support from CPI(M). Yesterday, in Kardukka Panchayath LDF had brought a no confidence motion and was supported by UDF to oust BJP out of power. With Enmakaje too gone from BJP’s kitty, the Panchayath’s held by BJP is reduced to two in Kasargode district.
