While the Focus Went Mostly on Northern Districts, Pathanamthitta Reeling Under Heavy Rain

The flood situation in Kerala doesn’t seem to get any better anytime soon. While it was the northern districts of Kerala which mostly featured in the news and grabbed the most attention, Pathanamthitta a southern – central district has suddenly shot to the scene reporting a heavy loss.

Hundreds of people are stranded in this place with no means to establish any sort of contact with the outer world. About 2000 people have already been rescued from Ranni while the MLA of the place Raju Abraham said that more people are trapped there. District collector announced that facilities including Boats will soon come to the place to start the rescue operation.

About 28 boats have already been deployed and 23 more boats will join soon. Indian army 69 soldiers are involved in rescue jobs. 37 soldiers from ITBP from state capital has left for Ranni. Currently, a lot of families have gone to the terrace to keep themselves out of the water. People are asked to light up their torch so that the rescue team can know where the people trapped exactly are. A lot of people are trapped in the Pampa region without food as well.
