Actor Rajinikanth congratulated Union Home Minister Amit Shah after PM Modi-led government revoked Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Rajinikanth said, “My heartful congratulations to you for mission Kashmir. The speech you delivered in Parliament was fantastic. Amit Shah and Modi ji is like Krishna-Arjuna combo. They only know who is whom. I’m wishing good luck to you and good luck to the country through you.”
The superstar also praised the Vice President of the country, Venkaiah Naidu. He said, “Venkaiah Naidu always thinks for the welfare of people. He has become a politician by mistake as he is an excellent spiritual leader.”
The government has used Article 370 to announce that special status granted under this Article to Jammu and Kashmir has ended. Amit Shah said, “Not all the provisions of Article 370 will now be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Article 370 is an enabling provision. It explains which parts of the Indian Constitution have jurisdiction over Jammu and Kashmir, which adopted a separate state constitution for itself during 1950s. Clause 3 of Article 370 empowers the President to decide the limit of the jurisdiction of the Indian Constitution over the state.
