An order to extend the deadline for submitting nominations in the West Bengal panchayat elections was rejected by the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday.
The Calcutta High Court stated that it is not inclined to accept the petition about the nomination filing deadline that was brought by opposition leaders in Bengal. It claimed that if it rejected the State Election Commission’s (SEC) notification, that would equate to questioning the election itself.
