Accused in Kalamassery Blasts Case Exhibits No Mental Health Issues, Phone Sent for Forensic Examination

The investigative team, which meticulously examined the social media accounts of Dominic Martin, the primary suspect in the Kalamassery blasts case, has taken the step of sending his mobile phone for forensic analysis. This examination aims to determine the individuals he had been in contact with through his phone, as well as to scrutinize the backup of his social media interactions and WhatsApp chats over the past few years. So far, there is no evidence to suggest that he received assistance from any other party in executing the explosions, complicating the case due to the accused’s distinctive character.

A medical examination report has affirmed that Dominic does not suffer from any psychological issues. Nonetheless, the police are making arrangements to reevaluate his mental health status with the assistance of psychiatrists. When custody of Dominic is secured once more from the court, further interrogations will be adjusted to accommodate these assessments.

Notably, on Wednesday, the investigative team did not submit a request to the court for permission to conduct an identification parade under the supervision of a magistrate. It is expected that this process will require an additional day, as the police intend to approach the court after assembling a list of individuals, including witnesses, who need to participate in the identification parade.
