New AI pin that can beam content onto a user’s palm launched by a Silicon Valley company

Artificial Intelligence has become a ubiquitous presence, finding its way into phones, computers, and now, with the latest innovation from Silicon Valley startup Humane, onto our clothing. Humane introduced a new device called the AI Pin on Thursday, designed to be worn on clothing and featuring a virtual assistant powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 technology, the same technology behind ChatGPT.

What sets the AI Pin apart in a market saturated with AI-based products is its distinct lack of a traditional screen. Instead, it heavily relies on Artificial Intelligence to engage with the user. Humane’s co-founder and President, Imran Chaudhri, who has previous experience working with Apple, emphasized the device’s role in integrating AI seamlessly into daily life, enhancing capabilities without overshadowing human aspects.

Priced at $699, the AI Pin will be available for order in the United States starting November 16. Positioned as a solution to reduce dependence on smartphones, the device boasts a laser beam scanning projection system that projects content onto the user’s palm. It features a 13-megapixel camera with a 120-degree field of view and an f/2.4 aperture, along with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of eMMC storage. Connectivity options include 4G (eSIM technology), dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS.

The AI Pin represents a novel approach to integrating AI into daily attire, presenting a unique alternative for users looking to interact with technology without the need for a traditional screen-based interface.
