Jammu Man with Fake Arms License, Former Kerala Security Guard, Arrested in Mumbai

Hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ashok Kumar, 39, worked as a security guard in Kerala using a forged arms license. The Thrissur City Crime Branch apprehended him in Mumbai after he had fled Kerala, where cases were registered against him for his activities at Koorkenchery in Thrissur and Karamana in Thiruvananthapuram.

Kumar’s elusive movements took him to Jammu, Delhi, and eventually Mumbai, where he frequently changed phones and SIM cards to avoid detection, according to the police. The Crime Branch, led by sub-inspectors VA Ramesh and M Habeeb, along with assistant sub-inspector Sudeep, successfully located and arrested Kumar in Thane, Mumbai, recovering weapons from him.

Following his arrest, a police team in Rajouri had also been on the lookout for Kumar. Subsequently, he was presented before the Mumbai Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court and later the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Thrissur, where he was remanded.
