Earthquakes Strike Ladakh and Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir

Early Tuesday, two earthquakes of mild intensity struck Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, with no immediate reports of damage. The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) reported a 4.5-magnitude earthquake at 4:33 am in Ladakh’s Leh district. The earthquake’s depth was recorded at five kilometers below the surface, with coordinates 34.73 degrees latitude and 77.07 degrees longitude. While the quake jolted residents in Kargil and Leh, no damages were reported.

In addition, a 3.7-magnitude earthquake occurred at 1:10 am in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. The quake’s depth was recorded at five kilometers from the surface, with coordinates 33.36 degrees latitude and 76.67 degrees longitude, according to the NCS. There were no immediate reports of damage from the earthquake in Kishtwar.
