Dental students to challenge Centre in SC over NEET MDS postponement

Dental students are expressing frustration over the upcoming NEET MDS exam due to the ineligibility of a significant number of candidates from the 2018 batch. While the Centre extended the eligibility date for completing the internship, it did not postpone the exam date. This decision has left only a small portion of students eligible for the exam, with just 10 days to prepare.

Displeased with the Centre’s decision, dental students plan to approach the Supreme Court next week. They feel the government’s action is insufficient and does not address their concerns adequately. Many students argue that the decision unfairly affects them, especially considering the challenges posed by the pandemic, which disrupted their internships.

The decision to maintain the exam date while extending the eligibility criteria has raised concerns among students, who fear missing the opportunity to sit for the exam. With limited time to prepare and logistical challenges in reaching exam centers, students feel their chances of success are diminished. Additionally, medical associations have joined students in criticizing the decision, highlighting the potential adverse impact on aspiring dental professionals.
