MMA Fighter emotionslly Urges Modi to Visit Manipur Amid Violence

Manipur’s MMA fighter Chungreng Koren has passionately appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the troubled state amidst ongoing violence, stressing that the situation remains dire. In a widely circulated video on social media, Koren expressed concern over the suffering of the people and the persistent tension gripping Manipur.

In his emotional plea, Koren highlighted the severe impact of the violence, emphasizing the loss of lives, displacement of people, and scarcity of essential resources like food. He underscored the urgent need for peace in Manipur, urging Modi to personally witness the situation and take necessary actions to restore tranquility.

The Congress party shared the video, echoing Koren’s call for Modi’s visit and criticizing the Prime Minister for his absence from the state amid the prolonged ethnic conflict between the Meiteis and the Kukis. The violence, which erupted in May last year, has resulted in numerous casualties and forced tens of thousands of people to seek refuge in relief camps across Manipur and neighboring states.
