The 2026 FIFA World Cup has expanded the number of teams from 32 to 48 teams and a total of 104 matches will be played. The teams will be divided into 12 groups of 4, with the top 2 teams from each group, plus the 8 best third-placed teams, advancing to the knockout rounds.
The 2026 World Cup will begin on Thursday, June 11, 2026, and the final is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026.
