A Special General Meeting set to take place on Sunday to decide on India’s participation in the mega event, new reports says that the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to select the squad for the Champions Trophy on Monday.
“Yes, the team will be selected on Monday as we want to work in tandem with the Committee of Administrators and don’t want to delay the process of team selection. But yes, that doesn’t change our stance as far as withdrawing from the tournament is concerned,” one senior official said.
Selecting the 15-member squad would not be a headache as it’s a set team. For the couple of spots that need to be confirmed, the selectors will have plenty of options from the performances in the Indian Premier League.
Champions trophy starts from june 1st 2017.
