Nurses goes for strike once again

Nurses of the private hospitals in state call for a strike again. In accordance with wage revision, nurses are all set to boycott services in hospitals from June 15.

Authorities had promised a revision from 2016 onwards due to a previous strike in 2013. An agreement of Rs 8750 for those who completed General nursing and Rs 9250 for BSc Nursing graduates were made earlier.

But the promises were left unfulfilled. Among 3 lakh nurses working in the 1500 hospitals only 20% gets the minimum wage, which is why the organisation had decided to set for another wide protest.

No hospitals had registered in the wage protecting system list which implemented by the labour department for making sure the acceptance of minimum wage
