Kannur Brennan college magazine: Police registers case against magazine committee

Police had registered a case against Brennan college magazine committee for disrespecting National Anthem under National Honour Act, 1971.

The college magazine named ‘Pellet’ had published objectionable pictures linking sexuality and National Anthem in the cinema theatre. Another caricature in the same magazine showed how a hand was holding a ‘phallus’ with a flag which had ‘Om’ printed as tied to the wrist.

The magazine ‘Pellet’ was published as part of the 125th year celebrations of the college. No amount of defence could save the college’s inappropriate caricature that has been published. The college is led by the Student’s Federation of India, which is the youth wing of the CPM.
